Asset allocation is how you divide money between asset classes. This tool suggests a split based on your age (capping equity at 110 minus age) and a conservative, moderate or aggressive profile.

## Example
For a 30-year-old with a moderate profile, the suggested mix is 60% equity with the rest across debt (30%), gold (7%) and cash (3%). On ₹10,00,000 that is ₹6,00,000 in equity.

## Scenarios
_Suggested split (equity / debt / gold / cash, %) by age and risk profile — equity capped at 110 minus age_

| Age | Conservative | Moderate | Aggressive |
|---|---:|---:|---:|
| 25 | 30 / 50 / 12 / 8 | 60 / 30 / 7 / 3 | 80 / 12 / 5 / 3 |
| 35 | 30 / 50 / 12 / 8 | 60 / 30 / 7 / 3 | 75 / 15 / 6 / 4 |
| 45 | 30 / 50 / 12 / 8 | 60 / 30 / 7 / 3 | 65 / 21 / 9 / 5 |
| 55 | 30 / 50 / 12 / 8 | 55 / 34 / 8 / 3 | 55 / 27 / 11 / 7 |
| 65 | 30 / 50 / 12 / 8 | 45 / 41 / 10 / 4 | 45 / 33 / 14 / 8 |
| 70 | 30 / 50 / 12 / 8 | 40 / 45 / 11 / 4 | 40 / 36 / 15 / 9 |

## What changes the result
- Age, through the 110-minus-age cap on equity.
- Risk profile: how large a temporary fall you can tolerate without selling.
- Goals and time horizon — money needed within a few years usually sits in debt or cash.
- An emergency fund and insurance, which should come before a long-term allocation.

## FAQ
**Is this personalised advice?**
No. It is a rule-of-thumb starting point. Your goals, income stability and existing investments matter too.

**How often should I rebalance?**
Many investors review their mix once a year, or when an asset class drifts more than about 5 percentage points from its target. Selling to rebalance can trigger capital gains tax.

**Do EPF and PPF count as debt?**
Yes. Balances in EPF, PPF, fixed deposits and debt funds are usually counted in the debt share when you check your overall allocation.
